What Our Clients Say
See what our clients have to say about their experience.
My wife and I had dinner there just as a by chance thing on our little trip to the McMichael Gallery. We were blown away! Our app was Burrata on greens with fresh ripe tomatoes with a balsamic vinaigrette, delicious. Then Jan had Ravioli that she really enjoyed and I had Scaloppini al Limone, delicious veal in a lemon sauce accompanied by penne olio. I am allergic to bell peppers and celery, which limited my sauce choices, but Tony made my meal special. I had a Creme Brulle and Jan had Tiramisu (as I remember). Both remarkably good. Espresso Corretto and Cappuccino to finish. Hurrah!

We went here for dinner with high expectations for good quality food based on the reviews we have seen when researching it ahead of time. We were greeted with the most amazing service (by the owner himself), a cozy and comfortable atmosphere (even though it's in a busy downtown area), and the best food we have had in this entire region. The chef clearly possesses an incredibly strong passion for his food, and it comes through in every single on his dishes, and becomes even more clear when you ask him about them. He answered every single question I had about the composition of his dishes, his ingredient selection, and his general opinions about food. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. To us it was more than just a great dinner - it was an unforgettable experience.

I truly do not understand the negative reviews for this restaurant. I have been to Allegro many times over the past 16 years and have had a lovely experience each time. I went with friends last night and the food was wonderful, as usual. Tony was kind and attentive. This is authentic Italian food and the price is worth it. Tony is selective about his ingredients - the buffalo mozzarella is imported from Italy, for example. My friends loved the salmon with truffle and ravioli with sausage. The wine selection is excellent. The steaks are from local farms. Tony often has a variety of cuts available, which aren't listed on the menu, so you have to ask about it. It's not true that "you can't get a good steak in Bolton" (as a friend once said to me) .People should support one of the few local, family-owned restaurants in town. Let's try to keep our good restaurants in business.
